Shir is such a warm, welcoming, exceptional person AND trainer.

Seriously, she can teach dogs commands within seconds.

We went to her puppy course and were so impressed! I know that she is - hands down - my dog's favorite person; high praise indeed. She believes in positive reinforcement and clicker training, which was incredibly important to me as a veterinarian. I had such am incredible experience and she made my puppy a better part of the family. He listens and wants to work now, which is a much better place than he was before. We not only learned commands, but also ways to help our dogs settle and self-soothe.

Shir improved everything about our boy and we are so grateful to her. We will be continuing with some personal training as well. We will miss coming to class with all of the other pet parents and their wonderful dogs!

Where do I even begin?! My husband and I rescued a one year old German Shepard mix two years ago. We did not know what we were getting ourselves into! He became fearful of people, dogs and became very reactive. It soon became impossible to take him on walks, have guests over or even take him on activities such as camping (one of our favorite things to do). He would bark, lunge, etc. We tried working with a trainer and nothing worked. We almost wanted to give up on him but then we found Shir.

Shir has been absolutely AMAZING. Shir not only understands dogs, she understands people too and she has helped calm our stress just as much as Jefferson’s (our pup).

We have worked one-on-one with her for five sessions now, working on having guests over. With a few cautions such as being leashed, we can now have guests over for dinner and drinks! Shir also helps us with smaller goals while focusing on the larger one. For example, she has amazing recommendations for toys, treats and harnesses which has helped us be able to take Jefferson on longer walks and relieve his energy!! She gives clear, detailed instructions for homework, and is always available to ask questions. She is also so kind and personable! Jefferson has been a tough pup to work with, but my husband and I are not giving up on him and neither is Shir!! We have gotten so far with Jefferson this far, and we cannot wait to have more sessions with Shir to work on meeting guests and possibly pup friends in the future!

It's hard to put into words how amazing it has been to work with Shir. Not only for our fur baby, Rory, but also for our entire family.

We originally came to Shir for help when Rory began demonstrating some aggressive behavior towards our 13-month-old, Madison, who was 8 months old at the time. Madison had just begun to crawl and this was causing great uneasiness for Rory. As you would suspect this was a very difficult and stressful time for our whole family as we didn't know what we would be able to do to get Rory comfortable around Madison. Thankfully we found Another Chance Training's website and were able to get in touch with Shir.

From the very first conversation, we could tell that Shir wasn't just your typical dog trainer. The questions she asked us showed a much deeper understanding of dog behaviors and gave us hope and confidence that she could be someone that could help our family. Rory had countless trainers prior to that point, but no one really addressed the true underlying reasons for Rory's behavior until we met Shir. With each session with Shir, Rory demonstrated substantial improvements across a number of problematic behaviors, including the one we were most concerned with and that was her behavior towards Madison.

Since working with Shir, Rory hasn't shown any signs of aggressive behavior towards Madison and its amazing to see them both interact together without any issues even as Madison becomes more mobile. Thanks to Shir the anxiety and stress we felt months ago is now gone. We are so lucky that Shir came into our lives and we will continue to work with her as both our babies continue to grow up together. Thank you Shir!!
